Declaration of AI Usage
IJAPT requires authors to disclose any use of generative AI tools (such as large language models) in the preparation of a submitted manuscript.
What must be declared
- AI-assisted language editing, grammar correction, or copyediting
- AI-assisted literature searching or summarization
- AI-generated text incorporated into the manuscript, even if edited afterward
- AI-assisted data analysis, code generation, or figure creation
What is not permitted
- Listing an AI tool as an author or co-author
- Using AI to fabricate or falsify data, citations, or results
- Undisclosed substantive AI-generated content presented as original authorial work
How to declare
Include a short AI Usage statement in your submission (e.g., in the Methods section or as a separate declaration) naming the tool(s) used, the purpose, and the extent of use. Example:
Example statement: "The authors used [Tool Name] to check grammar and improve sentence clarity in sections 2 and 4. The tool was not used to generate original content, data, or analysis. All intellectual contributions remain those of the authors."
Accountability
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all content in the manuscript, regardless of any AI assistance used. Editors and reviewers may request clarification or additional detail about AI tool usage at any stage of review.
