About
Plagiarism Policy
IJAPT has zero tolerance for plagiarism. Every submitted manuscript is screened with similarity-detection software before being sent for peer review.
Similarity threshold
Manuscripts with an overall similarity index above 15%, or with any single source exceeding 3%, are returned to the author for revision or rejected outright, depending on severity.
Types of misconduct covered
- Verbatim copying without attribution
- Paraphrasing without citation ("patchwriting")
- Self-plagiarism / duplicate submission to multiple journals
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Uncredited use of figures, tables, or datasets
Consequences
Confirmed plagiarism after publication results in retraction, a notice published against the article record, and notification to the author's institution.
Author tip: Always cite the original source, even when paraphrasing, and disclose any prior presentation of the data (e.g. at a conference).
